L’Option bilingue du programme SCBScN est offerte en partenariat par l’Université de Regina, l’École polytechnique de la Saskatchewan et La Cité universitaire francophone.
Vous aurez la possibilité d’obtenir votre diplôme en sciences infirmières en quatre ans, avec 50% des cours dispensés en français et 50% en anglais. Il s’agit du seul programme de formation en sciences infirmières de la Saskatchewan qui offre une option bilingue.

Ce dont il s’agit
Les étudiantes et étudiants inscrits à l’Option bilingue renforceront leurs compétences en communication professionnelle dans les deux langues officielles du Canada et augmenteront leurs possibilités de carrière. Vous serez en mesure de
fournir des services en français aux résidentes et résidents de la Saskatchewan qui préfèrent recevoir des soins en français.
L’intérêt du programme
Vous pouvez rester en Saskatchewan tout en obtenant votre diplôme en sciences infirmières en français et en anglais. Vous aurez accès à du tutorat et à d’autres services de soutien aux étudiants en français à La Cité universitaire francophone. Des bourses d’études sont réservées aux étudiants de l’Option bilingue.
L’Option bilingue est offerte à Regina et à Saskatoon, avec 14 places disponibles à chaque endroit. La taille réduite des cohortes permet d’avoir des classes moins nombreuses et de développer des relations étroites et stimulantes.
L’admission est ouverte au niveau secondaire ou postsecondaire.

Admission Requirements
Admission to the bilingual option is based on competitive average, applicants often require a higher average than the minimum average required for admission.
Applicants must meet all admission requirements of the regular SCBScN program. Applicants to the bilingual option must present proof of English and French proficiency. Applicants must show successful completion of Français Fransaskois A30 or B30 or Français immersion 30 with a minimum grade of 70%, or completion of the La Cité online placement test and obtain the FRN level 201 or higher.
High School Admission Requirements
Applicants who have completed or are in the process of completing Grade 12*, must present the following courses for admission to the program:
- One of: English Language Arts A30, Français Fransaskois A30 or Français Immersion 30
- One of: English Language Arts B30, Français Fransaskois B30 or Français Immersion 30
- One of: Foundations of Math 30, Pre-Calculus 30, Fondements de mathématiques or Pré-calcul 30
- Biology 30 or Biologie 30
- Chemistry 30 or Chimie 30
A minimum grade of 70% is required in each of the above-mentioned courses. Applicants with the highest admission average will be selected for the program. Cut-off averages for the last three years have been between 77.4% and 83.2%.
All previous or current University of Regina students must present a minimum UGPA of 65.00%.
All applicants who have completed post-secondary course work must be considered in good standing (i.e. not on faculty or university level probation) at the University of Regina or former academic institution as of the start date of the program to retain their seat.
Students applying from other Canadian provinces need to present equivalent courses. You can refer to High School Admissions Requirements for equivalent out-of-province high school courses.
GED will not be accepted in lieu of Grade 12.
*Only students who are currently enrolled in high school will be considered for Early Conditional Admission. High school graduates will be assessed using the five (5) courses listed above.
Post Secondary Admission Requirements
Applicants who have attempted 15 or more credits hours of approved post-secondary education (by the application deadline) must meet the following criteria:
Successful completion of the required high school courses or a post-secondary equivalent. GED will not be accepted in lieu of Grade 12.
A minimum 65% Application Grade Point Average (AGPA) on the last 30 credit hours of approved post-secondary studies presented. Cut-off averages for the last three years have been between 65.3% to 70.1%. Applicants with the highest-grade point average will be selected for the program.
All previous or current University of Regina students must present a minimum UGPA of 65.00%.
All applicants who have completed post-secondary course work must be considered in good standing (i.e. not on faculty or university level probation) at the University of Regina or former academic institution as of the start date of the program to retain their seat.
Required Documents
As the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a competitive-entry programs, applicants often require a higher average than the minimum average required for admission.
Official High School Transcripts
Applicants currently in high school at the time of application will submit two transcripts with their application; one by the transcript deadline of March 15 and one after their have received their final grades.
Applicants who graduated high school in Saskatchewan, are upgrading high school courses, or who are enrolled in the Adult 12 program, must request their transcript to be sent electronically directly via the Ministry of Education to Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
Graduates of an out of province high school must request the Ministry of Education in that province/territory to mail their transcript directly to Saskatchewan Polytechnic. See Saskatchewan Polytechnic for details.
Applicants may use MyCreds to submit their transcripts to Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
If you are an international applicant, all documents must be submitted by January 31.
Official Post Secondary Transcripts
Applicants must declare all current and previous post-secondary education on their application. Applications must be followed by an official transcript from each institution attended. The deadline to submit all transcripts is March 15.

All post-secondary transcripts must be mailed directly from the institution attended to Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Applicants may use MyCreds to submit their transcripts to Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
Students must submit official transcripts from ALL post-secondary institutions attended for any length of time. Failure to disclose attendance at any post-secondary institution may lead to cancellation of your application.
If you are transferring from another post-secondary institution, you must meet the admission requirements. After you have been admitted to the SCBScN program bilingual option in the post-secondary admission category, courses for which you have received previous credit will be evaluated to determine if they are eligible for transfer credit.
Cognate courses, must be completed in the French language to be applied to the bilingual option
A minimum grade of 60% (or University of Regina equivalent) is required in each course for which transfer credit is sought
Language Proficiency Requirements
All applicants must demonstrate an appropriate level of French and English language proficiency.
Applicants must show successful completion of Français Fransaskois A30 or B30 or Français immersion 30 with a minimum grade of 70%, or completion of the La Cité online placement test and obtain the FRN level 201 or higher. If you are a First Nation, Métis, or Inuit applicant, you may qualify for an equity seat if you provide one of the following forms of verification:
- Certificate of Indian Status
- Métis Membership Card
- Letter of confirmation of Indigenous ancestry from either your Band’s Indian Registry Administrator or Métis Local
How to Apply
Apply online through the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Applicant Hub. If you are a current or former University of Regina student, ensure you have your U of R student ID ready when you apply. See Application Fee section for more information.
Applicants for the Bilingual Option should indicate in the appropriate place on the application form that they are applying for the Bilingual Option. Applicants may only apply to one site (Regina or Saskatoon), this choice is given on the application form. If you become waitlisted at your location of choice and a seat becomes available to you at a different site, you will be contacted and offered that seat at the alternative site.
An applicant may apply for both the Bilingual Option and regular SCBScN program.
Applicants are accepted based on their competitive admission average and number of seats available at each location. There are a limited number of seats in the SCBScN Program and there are often more applications than seats. Meeting minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
Application Fee
There is a non-refundable application fee of $100 which must be submitted with your application form. If you are applying online, payments can only be made using a credit card.
If you are a current or former University of Regina student, you are not required to pay the application fee.
When completing your application:
- Add University of Regina to your Education History section.
- Enter your University of Regina student number.
Once your student number is entered, a waiver code and instructions will automatically appear. Follow those instructions at the end of your application instead of submitting a payment.

What if I am currently taking courses?
High School Courses
Applicants who are currently upgrading a required high school subject must notify Saskatchewan Polytechnic of which subject(s) they are currently upgrading. In addition to their official high school transcript received by March 15, a subsequent high school transcript indicating the final grade(s) of subject(s) upgraded must be received by
August 1.
Post Secondary Courses
Applicants who are enrolled in post-secondary courses at or beyond the admission deadline may be offered conditional admission if they have completed 15 or more credit hours and are registered in the required admission subjects. Applicants who have been admitted conditionally must satisfy all conditions outlined by the program including the completion of all required admission subjects and an official transcript submitted to Saskatchewan Polytechnic by March 15. A subsequent official post-secondary transcript indicating the final grade(s) of course(s) must be received by August 1.
Applicants who are currently upgrading a required high school subject with a post-secondary equivalent course must submit an official post-secondary transcript Saskatchewan Polytechnic by March 15. A subsequent official post-secondary transcript indicating the final grade(s) of course(s) must be received by August 1.
Applicants with outstanding grades at another post-secondary institution as of August 1 will be required to have an additional transcript submitted to Saskatchewan Polytechnic by September 1.
Decision and notification of successful applicants
Initial admission offers will be communicated electronically using by email and the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Applicant Hub prior to mid-April. Please ensure that you are checking your account frequently, or direct communication to an account that you do use frequently. Unless otherwise stated, you typically have 15 days to respond to any further requests.
The deadline for responding to the offer of admission is noted in your letter of offer.
Admission to the SCBScN program is competitive, therefore only students with the highest admission average will be selected.
Applicants are accepted on the basis of their competitive admission average and number of seats available at their identified location.
How to Check the Status of Your Application
All important updates about your application—including admission decisions, waitlist offers, document requests and reminders—will be sent to the email address you provided, as well as posted directly to your Saskatchewan Polytechnic Applicant Hub.
