An internationally educated nurse is anyone who has completed a nursing degree or diploma outside of Canada.

Internationally educated nurses may be eligible for the four-year or After Degree Nursing Program depending on the institution previously attended.

Internationally educated nurses are not eligible for the Upper Year admission route. However, if an applicant has completed a practical or psychiatric nursing diploma from an approved Canadian institution, they may be eligible for the LPN or RPN to BScN Option.

For admission purposes, a recognized institution in Canada is one that is a member of either Colleges & Institutes Canada or Universities Canada. A recognized institution outside of Canada is one that offers University or College-level programming and is authorized by the government in that country. The University of Regina follows the Pan-Canadian Quality Assurance Framework for the Assessment of International Academic Credentials.
